Istanbul Clinic Transfer: Airport, Hotel and Clinic Rides for Health Tourism

Şişli and Nişantaşı are the centre of the European side and the densest cluster of aesthetic and dental clinics; patients usually stay in Nişantaşı, Osmanbey and Harbiye hotels. From Istanbul Airport it is 41 km and 49 minutes without traffic, GET4S transfer from €71; from Sabiha Gökçen 48 km and about 60 minutes, from €82. Taksim hotels are next door: 44 km and from €76 from IST, 41 km and from €71 from SAW.

Ataşehir is the clinic and hospital district of the Asian side and the closest option to Sabiha Gökçen: 34 km and 37 minutes from SAW, from €60; 57 km and 56 minutes from Istanbul Airport, from €85. If your treatment is on the Asian side, flying into Sabiha Gökçen shortens both the ride and the price.

Bahçelievler and Şirinevler stretch along the E-5 and gather several large private hospitals and a great many hair transplant clinics; Bakırköy and Ataköy lie directly to the south. From Istanbul Airport, Bahçelievler is 43 km and 47 minutes, from €74; Bakırköy-Ataköy 48 km and 49 minutes, from €81. From Sabiha Gökçen, Bahçelievler is 77 km and about 69 minutes via the Eurasia Tunnel, from €112; Bakırköy-Ataköy 47 km, from €80.

Most patient trips have four legs: the airport-to-hotel arrival transfer, hotel to clinic, clinic back to hotel (usually over 1 to 3 days for the procedure and check-ups) and the hotel-to-airport transfer on the last day. Each leg is booked with its own pickup time; the driver collects you at the hotel or clinic door every time, and it is enough to write the clinic address in the booking.

Book the arrival and departure legs as a return and the total gets a 5% discount. A short wait at the clinic and the ride back to the hotel can be planned in the same booking; for 30 to 60 minute appointments such as a check-up the driver waits at the door. If your treatment date moves, the booking can be cancelled free of charge or moved to a new time up to 24 hours before pickup.

Some clinics offer their own free shuttle; GET4S is an independent option used for the legs the clinic shuttle does not cover (an early flight, a companion's transfer, a hotel change, an extra day in Istanbul) or when you prefer a private car to a shared van. Companions and family ride in the same vehicle at no extra cost; the price is per vehicle.

On a post-operation transfer the driver carries the luggage, never hurries you and follows your wishes on air conditioning and speed. The high roof and wide door of the Mercedes Vito let you get in after a hair transplant without the head touching the car; after dental and facial procedures the driver keeps to main roads and a gentle pace for a quiet, smooth ride. Privacy: the booking is made in the passenger's name only, passenger details are not shared with the clinic or any third party and the driver asks no questions about the treatment. At the airport the driver waits with a sign showing only your name; the clinic's name never appears on it.

In the first days after a hair transplant and after facial aesthetics the metro, Metrobüs and shared shuttles are not practical; the M1A metro's Bahçelievler station and the Metrobüs stops are inside the district but involve stairs, crowds and carrying luggage. A private car goes door to door and its price is known at the moment of booking.

Pay online by card in advance or in cash to the driver (EUR, USD, GBP or TL); every booking can be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before pickup.
