The drive from Antalya Airport (AYT) to Alanya centre covers about 125 km on the D400 coastal highway and takes between 1 hour 45 minutes and 2 hours by private car. The shuttle bus is the cheapest option at €10–14 per person, a fixed-price private transfer at €55–75 the most comfortable, and a taxi at €95–120 the most expensive.
This guide compares all three with real prices and journey times. It also covers an alternative many travellers overlook — Gazipaşa Airport (GZP), just 41 km from Alanya — plus dedicated advice for Mahmutlar and Avsallar.
The 125 km route at a glance
AYT sits on the eastern side of Antalya, with an easy run onto the Alanya road. The route follows the D400 almost the whole way: past Serik and the Belek turn-off, through Manavgat and Side, then along the coast via Avsallar, İncekum and Konaklı into Alanya.
In summer there can be brief slowdowns around Manavgat, yet the total time by private car rarely exceeds 2 hours. The seafront stretches after Avsallar make the second half of the drive genuinely scenic.
Shuttle and bus: the budget route
Shuttle buses leave the airport regularly towards Alanya; a ticket costs about €10–14 per person. Because they pick up and drop off along the way, the journey takes 2.5–3 hours — and ends at Alanya bus station or a main-road stop, not at your hotel.
From there a short taxi hop is usually needed to reach your accommodation. After midnight the departures thin out, so late arrivals should be prepared to wait.
Taxi or private transfer?
An airport taxi to Alanya usually comes to €95–120 on the meter, varying with traffic and your hotel’s location. Haggling is common on this long route — and the outcome rarely favours the passenger.
With a pre-booked private transfer the price is known in advance: €55–75 for a sedan, slightly more for a minivan seating a larger family. The driver tracks your flight, handles the luggage and takes you straight to the hotel door. The current fixed price for the route is published at get4s.com/en/transfers/antalya-alanya-transfer.
Gazipaşa Airport (GZP): the closer gateway to Alanya
Here is what many travellers miss: the airport nearest to Alanya is not AYT but Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport (GZP), 41 km east of the city. From there a private transfer to Alanya centre takes just 35–45 minutes and costs around €30–40 — a third of the AYT distance for less than half the fare.
GZP receives seasonal direct flights from several European cities plus domestic connections via Istanbul. When booking flights, comparing both airports pays off — especially for anyone staying on the Mahmutlar or Kestel side of town. Route details are at get4s.com/en/transfers/gazipasa-alanya-transfer.
